The Children’s Magical Taxi Tour is an event that is organised annually by the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers and is only made possible by those who sponsor the event and the taxi drivers that give up their time. The average amount it costs to sponsor a taxi for the event is £1,250 and this includes the expense of a hotel, fuel, food, admission charges etc. The convoy can consist of over 90 taxis, Gendarmerie Nationale, City of London Police escorts, London Ambulance NHS Trust vehicles and AA breakdown trucks. The convoy can stretch to over three miles long when running.
The Children’s Magical Taxi Tour has helped take nearly 4000 children to Disneyland Paris since its launch in 1994. Many proud taxi drivers have taken part every year since 1994, giving up their time and wages to help deserving children have a happy day out with their families.
